So why did he go in the first place? Only to stop short? You can't win a civil war in a country that doesn't want our way of life. It is going to be a looonng , expensive lesson.
Bush the first was smart enough to know what would happen if he "went after him". He know it would turn out just like what we have now.

Human life, yes. But Saddam...he wasn't human!

Poorest justification of celebration of murder I've heard yet.
Yes I oppose the death penalty (regardless of which country's law it is), but that's not the argument I'm trying to make here.
In this particular argument, so many folks are trying to justify why celebrating his death is a good thing.
You cannot convince me that it's appropriate.
If this particular sentence had to be carried out - just carry it out and go on. We dont have to be like Saddam was and take joy in murder - we can be a little better than him.
You'll shoot your eye out.

This wasn't murder.

Well, Sis, I don't believe that a state sanctioned execution is murder, and Saddam wasn't even human...and don't try and put words in my mouth...I haven't celebrated nothing. I'm merely glad that the murderer of over 200,000 people will no longer be able to murder another.
the purposeful killing of a human being is murder.
execution is murder.
Sematics aside - I'm ashamed that Americans can't act any better than Saddam himself when it comes to execution.
You'll shoot your eye out.

Sis??
I'm not your sister so let's not use condescending terms.
And I put no words in your mouth - I was arguing this point long before you chimed in.
You'll shoot your eye out.
