I don't give a damn what Pelosi, the current congress, Obama, or anyone else has done...it won't stack up to Bush's failures.

    Re: Pelosi

Its a company in the pacific that is owned by one company in San Fran, I don't think it would be too beneficial. There's no proof of that company making donations to her or any of that sort, so she's not lobbying for them. They make 3.60 and hour, they're a territory who weren't even subject to the 5.15 minimum. Samoan gov employees only make 7.99 according to on of those articles, the company has 5,000 workers and more then doubling the wage of everyone of those workers would probably result in the closing of the company or workers laid off..that's not a good thing when that company employs half of the workforce on the island, esp when they are competing with similar companies who pay their workers 60 cents an hour. If she had made an exemption of a couple of companies that are located in her district...it'd be pretty shatty move by her. But the company of a company that happens to have its headquarters in her district isn't really an issue.

In your mind the (D)s can do no wrong and the (R)s can do nothing right I will be the

IMHO #13 is on your list is a + for him I for one dread the day we go down the rabbit hole of the Carbon tradeing (I know it is comming and IT WILL BE VERY BAD for SWVA)

#2 The folks from NO should have evacuated rather than hang around to loot the stores after the storm I Have talked to several folks that works on reparing Powerlines and such and they said that the sence of entitlement was rediculess to the point that if someone gave them a water they would get mad becouse it was not a Coke. I for one think that Katrina was a no win situaton reguardless of who was in charge

#3 and #6 seem to be OK with the (D)s now that Bush is out of power (But like you said it is time for payback now right?)

#8 - I hate all the Free trade agreements too if we had only lisened to Perot back in 92

#14 gos for preatty much every Admin over the last 50 years (And I see thie one doing just about as much)

#4 Is nothing compared to what is comming our way

And the current administration is doing #15 themself

You know I HOPE that everything gets better I really do but all the worlds problems are NOT due to 1 man or even 1 party and the sooner we stop acting like they are and REALLY start tring to fix things we are doomed to repeat the failures of the past again and again

You might as well face it, the last 8 years have been the worst since RR said, "I'm gonna give my rich pals some tax breaks and if you poor bastards don't starve first, some will trickle down to ya. Get happy. "

My guess would be the worst since the 4 year era when Billy Beer came out.

Carter 77-81. WCCO and Paramount both hired thru that period. By the end of 82 WCCO cut 100 and by the end of 85 they cut 500 (over 25% of the work force) as the coal industry ground to a halt along with the rest of the country. Billy Beer would have been good, if you could have bought it. We are about to discover why our grandparents formed unions. RR cried about tax cuts while driving defense spending thru the roof and didn't care what happened to the rest of the country. Don't look for a whole lot of "change" with this guy, but I don't think he can be any worse. It might get worse, as we are on quite a downhill slide.

    Re: Pelosi

    The worm is turning already-

WASHINGTON - The Obama administration is signaling to Congress that the president could support taxing some employee health benefits, as several influential lawmakers and many economists favor, to help pay for overhauling the health care system.
The proposal is politically problematic for President Obama, however, since it is similar to one he denounced in the presidential campaign as ?the largest middle-class tax increase in history.? Most Americans with insurance get it from their employers, and taxing workers for the benefit is opposed by union leaders and some businesses.

Looks like the small biz doesn't have to worry about raised taxes, the middle class gets it again.NYT: Obama open to taxing health benefits - The New York Times- msnbc.com

Do you think that the Coal industry will do better under our current Gov? That IMHO is my biggest worry

Honestly, I don't think coal will fare any worse....but, it's time to realize that coal isn't viewed as the fuel of the future. And, as residents of a region that depends on coal, it's time to look for something to pin our future on besides coal.
