I feel for him. I know Indian_Dad and Shoe know some of what i went through. Im not sure what happened to the woman. Im no saint. But man. She put me through it. I feel for your friend. Esp. with kids involved me and my ex had none together but she had from a previous marriage.
I hate to see any family break up. But sometimes it has to happen. And i know some will disagree. But sometimes i think it is for the best. For the health of the whole family. Biggest thing i have seen is like Indian_Dad said. People tend to want to bring others grief, just for the simple pleasure of doing it. That i don't understand
