Have any of you ever seen the trunks go on sale? I would like to get a Samantha trunk, but I don't want it $175.00 worth. I have recently seen some on e-bay, but I don't want to spend their prices for one that is in used condition. Speaking of sales, the new May items will be out in under a week, has anyone heard what they might be? Julie

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I don't think I've ever seen them on sale, but I got mine a long time ago with a 10% off coupon that came attached to my catalog. I know they do attach those coupon codes about once every year.

Hi Julie, I have never seen the trunks go on sale since I have been a member of this Board, but maybe other Board members know better.

I have always paid full price for my trunks from AG. After a bad experience trying to purchase one off eBay, I learned my lesson. I find that I don't utilize my trunks (I have alternate ways of storing my AG outfits and accessories) as much as much as I just admire them. They are so beautifully crafted. As I have mentioned in earlier posts, I was thrilled when I received Kit's trunk--it was so much nicer in person, very high quality and a stunning shade of red. I had to save and save to get it. It was worth the wait.

To me, having the trunk makes a collection complete. I am presently saving up for Kirsten's trunk since it plays such a big part in her touching story.

I got Sams trunk off of Ebay with the doll and lots of stuff for a good deal. There were some things wrong with it that DH was able to repair, no problem.

Watch that the paper isn't peeling out. That the drawers are firmly attached and shelf is still well seated. On the ouside we had to repair the brass corners, ours were a little munched but better them then the trunk! These are easy to come by from a local hardware store.

It is a lot to worry about when getting it used. I had a good experience but I don't know if that is the norm. Buying it straight from AG might be better.

The only one I really want is Kirstens, ofcourse to go with the stories... I just feel like I could load it up with outfits wrapped in tissues. Sams trunk is neat to have but no real biggy to me. It just doesn't store enough. I guess if I only kept her clothes in it, it might work better [img]tongue.gif[/img] But I have it ram-packed with items.

We have a roll on suitcase for the rest of our stuff. The clothes are in the main part with the shoes all on the big pocket on the lid. Accessories are kept in an AG round tin in the main compartment. As our collection grows I have no idea what we are going to do...maybe buy a [img]graemlins/plane.gif[/img] to store the suitcases in and fly to AGP to get more crap.
