I think the first Death mini-series was dealt better: it seems like in the second one Gaiman needed one more issue to finish it properly, and not to rush it that way...
Anyway, DEFINITELY the first Death miniseries (The High Cost Of Living). And Bone. SIP and Bone are the only American comics I am currently reading...

*shrugs* Never really liked sandman or bone.
I mean, I understand the appeal, just didn't click my switch.
Try Watchmen or V for Vendetta by Alan Moore. And the early Sin City was really good. Best of all of Miller's work was 300. Plus, Promethea and Red Star(both nominated for tons of Eisenrs....); I mentioned them in the previous thread but they are good enough to repeat.
And if you never read any Howard Chaykin, pick up American Century.

ps-One of my favorite lines from the Maxx was when Sara said 'Death is cold and hard. Not some cute chick'. If you remember, Keith did some early pencils for Sandman.
