    Question

I have alot of rolls from the 60's and 70's. Transfering to DV is posing to be too expensive so I shall try a cheaper means of transfering with a projector and a mini DV ( will this work ? ). Can someone give me advice in this arena.

    1. How do I prepare the tapes for best quality ( cleaning, etc.)?
    2. What projector is the best for the money?

Any other details will help, thanks.

I was going to bring the whole topic post to the first page but realized that only one of the posts had info you could use...

    Wink

You can try to clean your films with KERDAN. For video transfert, the cheaper is ELMO GPE. 150 W lampe and variables speeds. Then, but it's realy expensive, you can use BEAULIEU 708 el capstan drive (sp?cific for vid?o transfert), elmo GS 1200 or the best one, but really hard to find, (but not the most expensive) BRAUN VISACOUSTIC with 24 and 25 f/s switch.
