    David,

As far as I know there is no such thing as
infrared super-8 film. Does anyone else
    know more about this?

    Question

    My first post:

Although it's a long shot, has anyone heard of infrared super8?

If you're rolling your eyes at this question, please forgive me for asking. But I was surprised to find the negative stocks which go str8 to video and was thinking, maybe there is such a thing as infrared super8.

    ekoe,

now that sounds like a good idea at least. when you said that you spoke to a few people, does that mean you have hope that the perfing machine will be realized?

and if it were, i wonder if would it be necessary to separate it into frames.

there may have been at one point in time, i don't know. i'm stuck on the idea of perfing kodak's infrared EIR stock. it's a color infrared e-6 reversal for stills. it'd be great for psychedelia art and music videos.
i've spoken to several people about developing a fairly inexpensive machine for super8 perfing from any 35mm stock, but the individuals i speak to are primarily concerned about the quality control of the film they shoot. i think this machine would really liberate s8 users. we could perf and load russian cartridges, and home process. no longer subject to kodak's caprice in stock availability.
