Now that I've found a full time job I won't be doing much ebaying anymore! Besides, my company's computers cannot load the bidding pages. If you can sit around and wait till the auction ends, the best way to keep a heads up is to keep checking the bid history page, back and forth, back and forth. This will allow an accurate time remaining and number of bids...(It took me awhile to learn this.) I would like to hear more about this "sniper" software for those of us that have jobs. In the future, I would like to have a palm pilot with internet that I could use to place bids, or whatever. Just don't let the big boss man catch 'ya!

I found out, that sniping software is even sold over ebay, out of the USA.
My last expierience was, that I placed a manual bit 10 seconds before auction end. I was shure to have made it. But in the end, another guy had placed his bit 6 seconds before auction end... And it was a VERY INTERESTING & cheap S8 item... I got crazy!

I hate to ask this question, because it will probably mean at some future time someone will beat me on a bid because they will be using sniper software and I won't, but can you just type sniper software into the e-bay search engine and get a result?

There are 2 ways to bid manually and get the bid in within 10 seconds or less of close. I won't tell but I'll give a hint on one of them. STOP WATCH

Alex: you will have to type a specific product name and will get results. Sniper software is sold at ebay!

Even if I got help from someone proficient in the sniper software installation, I would not have the confidence to trust a computer program to spend my money.
"Hal takes a Holiday" with my money.
What is the name of the sniper software, although it must be noted this is strictly for informational purposes only,
and sniper software buyer beware.

Well, I thought I would add myself to the list of victims of the current crisis.
I have just been "sniped" on Ebay - (by a Frenchman!) A beautiful Beaulieu MR8 with a schneider zoom lens MINT camera went to a "Monsieur Garlic" within 10 seconds of my last bid!
If this "sniper software" is genuine, I just hope it comes in a Mac version!

The bottom line is, you bid what you are willing to pay.
If someone else bids more, then they win, and there's no cheating about it.
If an item is sitting there at $20.00, and you know it's worth $200., but you smugly sit there with your $45.00 bid, even though you MIGHT be willing to pay more, but don't, because you think nobody else notices the item, well you're a fool!
If you're willing to pay $200. then bid $200.
If you don't and someone else does, it doesn't matter when they do it (as far as the context of "cheating" goes).
I've been sniped, and was pissed off BECAUSE I felt so stupid for thinking nobody else was paying attention!
So it's your own fault if you get sniped.
The other guy bid more.

Yeah, but they still can't snipe you if your bid is higher than theirs!
Whoever bids the most, at the moment the auction closes, wins, not just whoever bids last...
