And that's probably what guys like Bruckheimer and Bay say.

Incidentally, here's a trailer for Killer Sandwich 2.

You know you love it.

This is all opinion, of course.

But if I discover that a shit movie was meant to be nothing more than that, it doesnt change the fact that I view it as a shit movie, regardless of the filmmakers intentions.

And it is of course, very convenient and easy to take the position of "it was meant to be that way."

Well, I'm not setting out to make BAD movies.

But I'm not gonna say that my films aren't meant to be anything more than entertainment. I'm not taking a significant event in history and trying to make a heartfelt, dramatic motion picture, when all I'm really good at is spazzing a camera around and blowing shit up.

That's the difference between me and Michael Bay. I don't have ideas above my station.

What it really comes down to is that most people are not going to know what your agenda is - they will only know the quality of your work. You wont always have the luxury of explaining yourself - the work will have to speak for itself.

And who knows what the intentions of the filmmakers of King Arthur were, even if they try to defend themselves, we wont really know - they may be lying.

The good side to all of this - people may have their opinions of your work, they may think you suck - but you can simply ignore it all, and keep on trucking and make the best film you know how to, or let it bother you and spend a lifetime making excuses, whcih is extremely insecure and painfully self-conscious.

Tasty... if i had to guess i'd say you're feeling very disillusioned about your own film career, do you feel you could make something great if given tens of millions of dollars?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">You dont really expect me to answer that do you?

Disillusioned. Where'd that come from?

I meant no harm in what i said you just seemed to be coming across like you felt none of us would ever get anywhere, so i was beginning to think maybe you were getting frustrated about it. Either that or just sour, i don't know.

Reading back on my post i sound a lot more cynical than i intended, but i truly believe i could make a great film with $10m. I think that's probably true of a few people on here, maybe even you, all i was asking is if you feel you could do a lot more if you had that much money at your disposal.

To a certain degree i feel a $6k budget, or thereabouts, really would limit creativity.
