I don't see the point of these video games films at all. I don't understand why people throw away their money going to see them when they already have and play the video game. It's just giving the big studios more money for old rope (not to mention sequels and old TV show remakes) - not having to invest time or energy or talent in creating anything worthwhile or interesting.

Video games totally replace the need for dumb action movies as they are action movies that you can actually take part in yourself - which is much better and great fun.

Now that video games have the technological capacity for filmic qualites what is the point in going to watch a mindless series of linear action sequences taking place in a so-called 'movie' when you can take part in the action yourself by playing the video game?!

Surely everyone could be happy - better video games (due to better graphics and realism, better films (energy is spent investment in interesting film projects). This would mean less dumb junky and mindless action films cluttering up valuable cinema screens.
