Whislt rummagin around in a second hand shop today i picked up two cameras, first one is a Bolex H8 and the other is a 16MM Starlet and low and behold theres a real of 30 metres of 16MM film, what to shoot ?

Is it just me or does anyone else get nervous when entering a lift with a heavily pregnant women in it ?

How many meters of 16mm film does it take to shoot 1 minute of footage?

about 11 metres at 24fps = 1 minutes

So there's about 3 minutes left to shoot...

Hmm... what about shooting one take of a person smoking a cigarette...?

In february Im practicing with my Bolex, to try out the features. (film speed, fading, lenses...)
We will probably only shoot one or two rolls. Ill be filming everything in fast motion - the film runs through the camera slowly, so that when played back the clouds will hopefully zip across the sky.
That way we can do a whole days filming on a couple of rolls, and we can try out some interesting effects.
It'll be fun using a slower speed, because then the film is exposed for longer which gives more room to play with with regard to the fstop. This means you can try using filters and slower film stocks.
Could be a fun day.
My 16mm also does single frame (I expect yours do too) so some time lapse and animation are on the cards too.
you can do a lot with 2 and a half minutes.
Try making an advert.

Just wondering how much you pay for a 100 ft. film over in the UK?

I am guessing you all shoot on reversal? (Much, much, MUCH more challenging then silly Negative... Maybe I am just bitter because I can't afford any negative?)
