I love LAIN, but I only saw the first 2 volumes. I have them on DVD. And you're right, this anime series is really experimental, and it makes me think about things I never thuoght about. It has crazy ass visuals too, and it's just really wierd and strange all around.

"Fear and Loathing" is just another sure-fire example of a book-translated-to-movie gone horribly wrong.

I guess The Matrix was kinda experimental film, obviously with ol' Bullet Time and stuff, but coming from little-know Austrailian directors with little history, and using stars better known in Austrailia, like Weaving. I guess it's more experimental tecniques than an experimental film... I leave it to you...

Faer and Loathing in Las Vegas is totaly not an experimental. Everything in that film has already been doen. The only thing that makes you THINK that it's experimental, is the fact that theres a lot of hallucanations in that film. But the film was pretty normal as far as films go. Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie and thought it was totaly original, but it's just tatly not experimental. And BTW, the movie was WAAAAAAAY better than the book. The books edning sucked dick.

The 'end' of the sixties sucked dick.
There isnt ever an ending, life carries on, is messy and has loads of loose ends.
I thought Fear and Loathing was brilliant but was so disapointed that they chose to miss out the whole point of the book. That is they find the American Dream, its a washed out derelict theatre full of squatters, junkies and criminals.
But they did have H.S.T. musing over the typewriter.
That is a good thing.
Reminds me of Naked Lunch a wee bit.

one more i forgot about, is the brilliant short La Jetee. Its a french movie that inspired Twelve Monkeys. made by Marker i believe.
