Oh yeah.
When I found this DRUMMER, first thing I thought was "I have to share this...". Some members already knew about him, but not me...Here you have an old (and long) topic I found about him in this forum.
Enjoy.Look for more in the SEARCH OPTION.
It?s from 2003

Just got back from the gym and listened to the entire Petrucci album while I was there.

On the plus side, this is the best playing from Dave I've heard. I've never really heard a drummer play this kind of prog with such a fantastic feel. Dave manages to play some funky stuff even behind this kind of prog-rock.

The unfortunate negative is that the guitars frequently start into arpeggio/renaissance fair/leather pants licks which just blows it for me. It only happens about 6 times per tune so it's not too annoying.

Yeah, what'd you expect from DT's gtrst... ;cp

Well, look at it this way - that's perfect music for the gym workout! [32nd scalular notes "at 200mph" into a brick wall...What?! He surprised ya with some arpeggios?!...how about some tapping/hammer-ons/pull-offs?...] ;cp

LOL, shedder, with his "ugh"...

Yeah, I might have to re-think that comparison I made [DD to VC level] on that HODhb link [Juan's]...

DiCenso's one of THE "bonafide" bad-axes.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Man, I was totally disappointed by this solo effort. It sounds like your cliche GUITAR HERO solo album, super dated and just... lame. Sure Petrucci shreds his ass off, which is nothing new, but the compositions are not strong enough to hold their own and they seem to go on forever. Thankfully Dave Dicenso holds the fort here, with his rock solid drumming which is pretty meat & potatos throughout with some moments of brilliance and sick sick fills... one of which is in a (terrible) fade-out... turn it up!!! Good gig for Dave, but I think that he could have been more creative on this - there is no denying that he really held back on this session. I need to give it a couple more spins, but my first impression is 5/10... let down!

P.S. Derek is right about the old school wanking.

Is the Petrucci album only available through his website? The samples I heard there sound promising, but I've never heard the tracks in full. How did you guys go about getting the album?
