I would guess that it is very common in churches all over the world, apart from in more traditional churches (Catholic, Lutheran etc). I don't think people here in Europe know how very common this is, simply because their only picture of what church is like comes from funerals (or funeral-like meetings)...

In fact, in Europe we even play the same song(s) as Danny. "Hungry" is a good song...

First off, Danny I think you sound fantastic!!! I totally respect your feelings about your time but IMO your groove is tight. I've heard some pretty bad music played in church, including a very inexperienced drummer trying to play behind a guy doing his best Yngwie Malmsteen impression.(well... maybe not that bad, but pretty self indulgent) Keep up the great work.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I will CONTINUE to work and grow as best as I can. I am a student of the drums for life and I love it!

I play about twice a month for Sunday service, only because it's hard on my wife trying to get ready with two kids (ages 3 and 3 months) alone. The church I attend has three services in a row and we play all three.

As far as this type of music in churches in Europe, I think it's very common. The Hillsongs and Vineyard churches are quite popular in Europe. They have some GREAT players!
