Awww Yeah Barb I totally undestand where your coming from!!
Its sometimes very hard to seperate the man from his music thought as they get intertwined.
I agree he may be human but his humanity isnt endearing always.. He lets me down just as a normal "human" person really.

Laurie, I think it might be easier for us because the Canadian fans really are pretty close knit. We don't have politics dividing our group like other street teams. Yes we get a little down about it every now and again but we still manage to have fun.
I think we're lucky. I think having our street team might be part of the reason it's easier for us to let go of the other stuff. Not to mention our kick ass leader that keeps informed of EVERYTHING... sheesh... Darren sneezes and not only do we know about it but Laurie usually has the pic to go with it.

Did he sneeze the other day and I didn't get a pic of that? LOL
Thank you Chai, you are wonderful.
You are definitely right, surrounding yourself with people who are very orientated to being a Fan and having FUN! I absolutely love that word! FUN FUN FUN FUN!!!

Wow! Huge hugs to you all and my sincere thanks!
Only HERE could I have posted what I did, have it accepted and feel understood, but most importantly not judged because of how I was feeling!
I am not feeling so *blue* today (no pun intended).
Yes Terry I do feel as you do, but also intend to try and follow Laurie and Chai's suggestions!
Fanbase politics are ugly I must try hard to let it just wash over me and not become consumed with it. I have used the messageboards as a form of escapism only to find no escape.
I do, however, think Darren looks adorable Terry, he's just far tooooooo young for me, lol
Anyway, again my sincere thanks

Hmm, I get the feeling I missed something, and probably glad I do too by the sound of this!
I don't know specifically what made you feel that way Barb, but I try and keep out of it as much as I can now - I am active in the UK Street Team but mainly I just love the music and my friends....so that is my main focus. When I see negative/controversial looking threads, I try not to read them - not because I want to be blinkered, but just because I end up being sucked in and getting involved in an argument that really has nothing to do with me! I do not agree with all the decisions that Darren and those around him make, but I prefer to think that mostly they are intended for the best....and I accept I may be deluding myself!!!
It's all about great music at the end of the day...the rest is all "extra". I like Darren's fallibility, it helps remind me not to stick him on a pedestal! But beyond that I do my best just to enjoy the good stuff and let the rest wash over me...why bother stressing myself out over things that are none of my concern and/or beyond my power to change?!
I hope that came across the way I meant it - I only have about an hours sleep last night so it may be gobbledegook!!!
((((hugs)))

I just deleted two very *snippy* replies I felt compelled to post on the fanclub board, because I remembered what I'd read here earlier today - be a fan of the music, don't get involved in the politics etc just have fun !!!!!
