Does Sparkomatic do some bigger stuff?

e.g. Church Production Magazine Article Nov/Dec 2003.

They did, I'm not sure if they still do. GPA built some of the stuff at first, or at least designed some of it. Production is Chinese.

Interesting review. Does (Altec)/Sparkomatic still make duplex speakers--what is the date/year of that reveiw? Anyone here ever heard one of those? I'm afraid to think of how they sound compared to the "real" (vintage) Altec duplexes--but since I've never heard one, I have no idea how good or bad they are....

Yes, they show up on ebay every so often, but I'm not sure if they have HF horn driver on the back. They have a plastic cover with a crossover built in. You can probably find the literature at Altec Pro. Seems like the model is CD-something.

Altec Lansing Professional Audio - Ceiling Speakers

CD-1012 is "engine" based with large format HF, looks like a spin-off of the GPA 212.

CD-912 uses a dome type direct radiating HF section.

Actually no. Altec pro was closed down some time ago. The Altec Pro 604 was GPA built...I think the CD1012 was Chinese with a GPA fram in it...

I was talking about the CD drivers. I didn't know Altec Pro (ALT/Sparkomatic) ever made a 604. The CD drivers do show up on ebay...... and yes produced in China.

If "all remaining activities relocated" it doesn't sound like they're completely closed down. I figured they had to be doing some business since the website is still up.

They make some low end ceiling speakers I think. The website is likely up to preserve value of the Altec pro name... it's pretty much gone.
