they were a stock item from Altec just not a lot sold.
You can get a good pair of 8's for 400 on FeePay on a regular basis
Need 16? Just use a series non inductive resistor. Gotta turn the dang things down anywhoo. Prolly get a pair of resistors for ten bucks delivered.
I agree they're way overpriced -- but an interesting rarity and the first I've ever seen. You could be right about the 7 ohm driver--you can only see the part number on one of the diaphragms pictured..... Does anyone know if the 34117 is an original?
