    604-8g

I picked up a pair of 604-8g speakers in cabinets manufactured by Hillcraft. Nice build quality on the cabs. Pulled the drivers as I noticed one has heavier dope on the surround than the other and noticed two different codes. One begins with 239 code on the cone the other is 211. I suppose one was reconed? Any thoughts on this?

Is this LPD from AK ? I posted in that thread that original 604-8G's should have 23739-4 cones.

23739 should be a G cone, tho I've a driver with that cone but with a 16 ohm coil.
21184 is generally the cone part for the 515B 416 604E.

If I'm not mistaken there are 2 variants of the 21184 cones (21184-2 & 21184-4) The 21184-4 goes with the 416 and the -2 515 respectively IIRC.

    Re: 604-8g

I have a friend with 904 drivers with same 211 code, so, I'm assuming a 904 cone kit was used? Both drivers sound very similar although the stock one is a little heavier. The sound out of these speakers is absolutely amazing. They definitely do things my 19's can't.
