N1285-8B?

I've recently purchased a used pair of "Voice of the Theatre". These appear to be A7s, but on the back it says "Model Number N1285-8B". Could this be the crossover type? They have multiway binding posts,(Not screw terminal strips.), and a level control with a switch for MF/HF or HF only. Could anyone give me some info on these guys? Such as age, specs, suggested tweaks, etc.?

This is a recent model , probaly early 1990's

902-8B Hf
511-B horn
Xo 1285-8B with attenuator if my memory serves me correct 500 HZ.

yes there is such a place.

You can either order 2 sets of diafragms and fix it yourself. Or send both drivers to GPA.

Yep, move the jumper to change the frequency. Directions should be on the top. If not, I believe all the way to the right (viewed from the rear) = 1200, to the left = 500 from the left skip two = 800. The mf only setting and 1200 Hz sounds best to me with 90 deg. sectoral horns and 802/902s

I'm guessing that in order to change crossover frequency I would move the jumper installed on the top barrier strip?
Also, the leads on one of the HF diaphragm, appears to have been overheated at some point, the insulation has been cooked off. It still has good continuity, and the unit produces sound but I would like to replace it anyways. Would you, (or anyone on the message board), know a good place to order parts from?

Changing diaphragms isn't difficult. You can find directions for the 900 series (others are similar) on the CPC website, at;
