Water?

I can't argue that ole buddy. I don't know what went wrong where. But something went wrong. I will say that. Not sure if it was in the new construction of the new dam and holding the old dam 5 ft from overflowing or just poor mangement of the water in the old dam. But something went wrong.
I have just been updating based on info i find out. Just been trying to help keep folks from panicking. Right now the town owes a big thank you to WRSP, for hauling in water to help out at the prison and for much of the mountain.
I think hauling about 130,000 gallons a day to keep the prison going and the apartments on the mountain. Took a big burden off BSG. Hopefully it will pay dividends until all is going. I know the prison is hauling water from Appy and i think Scott Co. Several tankers making a lot of trips per day. Got to say the prison has helped out with the local problem.
And the statement whoever made about the living situation, in or out of town or corporate limits is exactly right.
Either way you pay. Those outside have no police service other than the county or garbage pickup. And have to pay county taxes and for a county decal. And some locations don't even have sewer service, some are still using septic systems.

I live outside the town limits and we definately don't get the same services as town residents. We pay more for water, have no police protection and no garbage pickup. As far as kids going to the same schools, SURE they do. The schools are in the county, not the town.

You hit that nail on the head. My bill for water was $40, my total water bill was $104.

Appalachia will be making a tie-in with BSG some time tommorow and should be able to send about 100,000 a day to them, at least until it begins to put a strain on the reservoir. The well at Appy should be up and running tommorow also, at about 100,000 a day, for now at least, and will offset what is being sold to BSG.

Overall we pay higher taxes and you all get the same benefits we do.

What benefits, I get nothing extra, except a higher water bill, and or sewer, but they dont offer it my way.

you must be on some kinda drugs. Over 3/4 of BSG water customer are from outside corporate limits, and they all pay a higher water rate for water than trown residents do. As for the benefits of living in the corporation limits, you get garbage pick-up and street cleaning. You get sewer service, and if a non resident wants to rent Carnes gym or one of the pavilions in the park, we pay double. The schools are county owned and maintained, so why don't the county make BSG residents pay tuition? Something to look at and think about before you go complaining about all the benefits we, as county residents get.

We pay both county and town taxes so do not tell me that we don't pay our share for the schools. My tax bill is over $1,000 for both county and town.

What do we get from the county? We get the schools and can take our trash to the convienience(sp?) centers. We get court services and that is about it. Those outside the town limits pay more for water because you do not pay the taxes we pay.

I guess you dont realize all the times you payed the same amount of money for your kids to play in the little league sports programs BSG offers did you? That is huge imo, our tax dollars go to maintain the park and such while yours dont yet you pay the same fee to pay in the league? Truth's the truth you all dont want to be in the town limits and I dont blame you, I mean you didn't see any non town residents protesting to be put in town did you?
