How sad. Saw Jim Cantore reporting a little earlier on the Weather Channel and apparently had ran into a family who was staying, and must be riding it out on the waters there in Houma, I'm guessing from the way he was explaining things (missed the first part of it). Apparently they were talking about Katrina and he was trying to explain how this one will be different with them being on the eastern side and closer to the eye wall this time and such, and how storm surge will be higher. Anyway he asked them why they were staying and their response was that the kids asked them to......???? Like his response in the report, who's in charge there..

As for the storm, looks like the eye is reforming and Gustav may be trying to strengthen some by the looks of the IR satellite. As of the 11 p.m. update its a little weaker than Katrina at 115 (Katrina 127 at landfall I believe), but could get up to 125 or so, may just stay the same though, before reaching the coast.
