well I didn't get a hangover haha.. but yeah that night was rough.

Actually, I got hammered at a local place. Somehow, I have no idea how, but I was walking to a bathroom and pulled over one of those single seat booths at Mosby's. It fell and knocked a hole in it. I didn't really realize what I had done until some friends called. I called Phillip and asked him, and he said he had me on camera, and said I was coming around the corner, and I kinda pulled on it, and it flipped over. He said I'd have to pay for the damages, and I said that'd be fine, and I apologized.
I was just curious, because the back of those things are like plywood or pasteboard, and I wasn't going to let him rip me off. Ya know a normal $65-$100 job, turns into a couple hundred dollars.
Guess we'll find out Monday or something.

You are responsible for your own actions of course, but I'd like to see some takes on this if some fatal would have happened. I mean yes I know they are a business trying to make as much money as possible, but they have to have some sort of cut off limit when someone is already drunk. It's just poor judgment on their behalf to keep on serving. Though in this situation I'd assume theres nothing you can do but try to give them an alternative. Tell them you've found something online similar thats much less money. Ask them to provide proof of the billing price of the item. Don't let them rip you off!

I wont let them rip me off, Phillip is a really nice guy, and was really cool about it. I mean he's going to let me pay without filing a police report or anything.

But I did post this to get some discussion on what if something fatal happened. I think I read somewhere a while back, that if a bartender know's your drunk, and keeps on serving you, and you go out, get in your vehicle, kill someone and yourself. The establishment is reponsible.

I was thinking the same thing. No way a restaraunt is responsible for you going out and killing someone. I know several people who until they get up and walk away from a bar, you have no clue they are even drunk. Different people have different alcohol tolerance and as busy as most bartenders are, they should not be responsible for each and every person walking in or out of the bar.

If the people up front notice you can't walk or fall into people or boothes, then they should stop you and ask if you have a ride or if you need a cab. But, I don't see how an establishment could be responsible for sometimes hundreds of people who come in and out of the bar. What if they only had 1 beer at the bar but maybe had 15 somewhere else, are they going to cut you off after 1, no way. To many different situations or circumstances could evolve from the time you enter that building. Each person needs to be responsible for themselves and their actions, sober or not.

I have known Applebee's to cut people off. If they think you have drank to much and haven't eaten, they will ask you to order some food or leave.

Yeah, I've seen Applebee's do that to people as well.

after continuous shots of liquor and beers, a bartender can, and should cut you off.
I've read some cases, where in fact, it has come back against the establishment for serving someone too much.
yes, everyone should be in charge of their own actions and such, but when you aren't in the right state of mind, and someone doesn't help out the situation just to make a few more bucks, then it is their responsibility to stop you.
