I've got one of mine mocked up (sp?) that way presently. Just my existing ~3" full width slot port (inside cab) and a form-fitting piece of MDF/melamine (whatever it is). I started a little large, then slimmed it kerf by kerf until it press-fit and stayed put pretty well. A run of ele tape around the perimeter helps it be just wide enough to stay put, but still adjust.
As GM mentioned, this is just temporary for tuning. I got down to 35hz or so with 1" full width. I plan to post pics and results, but life is in the way of play, as usual.
* I did post measurements of the original ~3" full width, but I'll be ***** if I can find the post now.
Next I am moving onto sealing it, and using ~3" length (to be adjustable during testing) of 3" dia PVC.
The impedance graph suggests to me that this is the next logical step (for me).
(i.e. the lower freq impedance bump is larger than the higher hump... )
