Re: Nascar a sport?

I'm being 100% honest.. I'm not joking.

Here's the definition for a sport:
[ QUOTE ]
A physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wars have rules to follow... white flags = surrender. Killing civilians = Wrong. The rules of the Geneva Convention..

If you ask me, it's just as much of a sport as anything else, it's just a sport to the death.

Re: Nascar a sport?

That may be the case, but if you aren't in a war, you aren't fighting one.

Similarly, if you aren't in a sport, you aren't going to be playing that sport.

Unless there's a draft to call out people when things go wrong, all others who join the military do so on their own ground. It's almost like an athlete choosing whether or not to play a certain sport.

War is most definitely a sport, because it's a competition between two or more sides, and one to the death! And there is/are winner(s)! And there is conditioning to prepare for war! Much like there is conditioning to prepare for a sport.

That's my opinion at least.. I don't see how it couldn't be considered a type of sport.

Not all sports have to be fair!

please...let's not compare a bunch of rednecks driving fast cars to soldiers.

Dick Trickle has nothing in common with George Patton.
