The difference between Kerry and McCain in Vietnam is that McCain got caught and Kerry didn't. Regardless, Bush hid in Alabama and Texas and for the past 8 years he seems to think he's John Wayne charging up a hill...guess just as long as you're GOP it doesn't matter that ur a coward.

Kerry has three purple hearts, correct? Also, when he ran he was up against Bush who pretty much joined the Texas National Guard to avoiding serving over sea's. Anybody who has 3 puprle hearts has served their country to the fullest imo, maybe your opinion is different. The real shame is that some people voted against Kerry because of his actions after he got out of service while Mr. Bush was able to avoid service.

Flip Kerry, as has been proven by eye witness accounts of the people who were there with him, was a coward and a liar. Arrived in Vietnam with his own camera crew to further his career. Went over his commanding officer's head to get Purple Hearts he did not deserve. Later said he threw them over the White House walls but then finally admitted he lied about that too. Yep. He is a gem.

There are 2 sides to every story...the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Kerry's "attainment" of those purple hearts was questionable (especailly the first one), and the fact that he used them to be removed from battle is pretty different than how McCain acted while being held hostage in a lot worse shape than Kerry was on a mission. Plus I believe McCain outranked Kerry as well.

I think people over estimate military service in elections, Dole lost, Bush Sr. lost, Kerry lost, McCain is losing, etc. It's not been going well for distinguished war hero's as of late.
