Cami I thought they might pull out a new face mold with that illustration at first too. But then I realized that this is a LE. They would have to be sure they would use enough other times to make it worth their time and money. But then, we never know for sure.
I agree with you though. Its exactly how I feel about Elizabeth. Regardless of what AG says, they now have 3 dolls with blonde hair and blue eyes in the historical line. 4 if you count Nellie like some people do, myself included. Brown hair and eyes is by far the most common combination in caucasion people, yet you would never know it from the dolls. Im not saying I think Elizabeth is ugly, in fact I think the opposite. But their reasoning for changing her is baloney. There are so many combinations they can create with these dolls and they keep going back to the same thing it seems. To create at least some diversity she could have been a brunette with blue eyes or a brown-eyed blonde. BUT, I really dont want to get into another 'Elizabeth is blonde' debate. I think that one has been worn into the ground pretty well around here. But there are many of us who are still unhappy and feel cheated about that change. Sorry-just had to get that final bit in there
Anyway, a new mold or part Asian character with Kayas mold would be cool. Im looking forward to her debut either way.

I fix pictures with messed colors all the time, so I had no problem with this. I'm guessing these are the most accurate colors (yay for photoshop)

Wow! She is beautiful-she almost looks slightly Hawaiian/Philipino to me. Or perhaps she just looks like my Philipino cousin Iris
I can't wait to get her. I think my holiday money is definately going towards her. I can't wait to see more accurate pictures as well.

I really am sorry to keep posting, I have nothing else to do right now, (except the big pile of homework...).
Oh, that's so cute! Thanks for fixing it up! I hope she does look like that. I definitely think it's a new face mold. And I think she does look part Asian, even if she's got dark brown hair, she could easily be part Asian (I agree on perhaps Philipino). If she's not, and she's Caucasian, I hope she has hazel eyes. I love the yellow outfit, there aren't enough yellow outfits, and it looks so tropical. I also really like her bag/purse/whatever that is.
Rach, I agree that the new face mold might be too time/cost consuming for just an LE. If she's not Asian, I'll definitely expect this to be the face that Ruthie and Emily get. And if she is Asian, I imagine the face will be the same, just with different eyes.

I thought she looked Hawaiian too. That would make sense since she is going to South America. Obviously they dont look exactly alike, but there are some similarities between natives of that region and Hawaiians. It made me think her story might be about her parents going back to their-or at least one of their-home country to study. That would be an interesting story, getting in touch with her familys history after being raised in America. However, I would have thought that would have been mentioned in the book summary IF thats right. Another thing, was Marisol's ethnicity mentioned in her book summary? I would have a hard time assuming she is a minority if they didnt go out of their way to point it out as it seems that is what they have done in the past. BUT, Ill be the first to admit Im not always right
Although thats what she looks like, Im going to hold onto my hope that her hair is not quite black and that she will have lighter skin so she can be Elizabeth

I took the picture off the site and added red hues.. there were none in the picture that was on that site.. this is what I am guessing Jess will look like.. the binding and header on these books is suppose to be the dark burgundy signature color, isnt it?? Is it that burgundy red on the other LE books???.. I think that the background should most likely be green.. as the bird should be green too.. Still I dont feel that she will be asian. Her hair flips at the ends as if it has a slight curl to it.. I know that some Asians have that light twist to their hair, but for the majority, they have very straight hair.. at least my two Chinese neices do. I am putting my money on Kaya's face sclupt and dark red hair..
