The difference is measurable.
At 500hz XO, the difference is also audible to these ears.
EDIT: I should add that if Bill was speaking specifically about the 902's in your 14's(which after some thought i have a suspicion he was), then what he said/says in that context is pretty accurate. Above 14's XO the difference is very negligible, and probably undetectable by all by all but the most supremely sensitive ears.
