Do not think so (bus drivers are I think)

IMHO Teaching is a profesion in which there probably should be drug testing (not saying that teachers are a bunch of druggies but 1 could do ALOT of damage)

By testing teachers and faculty first you also defuse many of the complaints that might arise from students and parents ahead of time.

Testing faculty and admistration could prove interesting. Bus Drivers are tested at the time of their physical at the beginning of the school year and are also subject to random testing. Have known a couple that lost their jobs.

While everybody is able to be educated (something along those lines is the reason you can't test students), a teaching job is like any other job, and that can have testing applied to it.

Shouldn't be a problem.

To teach in NC, you DO have to submit to a drug test. I know of one county that also gives a breathalyzer to you as soon as you walk into the office where the test is administered! I know of a few teachers that may get into trouble if this is put into effect in VA!

It would be easier to implement any form of student and/or athlete testing if all faculty were to be tested as well. As far as students in general being tested couldn't you (and I know this may be a reach but for example) test any student that attends a ballgame, school concert, goes on a field trip, goes on a trip with a school club, etc. as this could be viewed as participating in activities. I also think it is correct to assume that some would not participate so they would not be subject to the testing, but I think that would be the exception.
