Heres what I get from my most trusted LOCAL weatherman/climatologist....
After an extensive commentary on why and how we will get tonights weather, he laid out the bottom line.

The bottom line..............

1 ). Expect blustery and cold conditions with flurries, snow showers, and possible squalls developing Monday night
into Tuesday.

2 ). Little to no accumulation across lower elevations, below 2000 feet, except in locations ( mainly on upslope side of
the mountains ) that get heavier snow showers or squalls. Best sticking will be on above ground objects.

3 ). A general 1"-3" across upper elevations, above 3000 feet, during Monday night-Tuesday. A wind driven snow, so
amounts in any given location will likely be hard to measure.

4 ). Totals of up to 1" or locally more across middle elevations, between 2000 and 3000 feet, during Monday night-Tuesday.
Best sticking will be on above ground objects ( where winds do not blow it away ).

5 ). Cold and blustery conditions at all elevations, with increasingly cold conditions as you go up in elevation.

6 ). Due to combination of falling leaves with snow roadways could slicken even where there is little snow, so be cautious.
Winds will likely keep most main roads leaf free, but some secondary roads could be a different story.

7 ). The WILD CARD is the amount of Great Lake moisture. Snowfall amounts could change is either more, or less, moisture
reach the mountains than currently figured.

I know in the winter of 75-76, we got out for Christmas vacation on the 16th of December, didn't go back to school until February of 1977. We went to school an extra hour every day and went on saturdays to make up the time.

I just hope this year we have a better snow year than we have had in the past. That would be nice.
