My parents both have blue eyes and 5 of their 9 kids have brown eyes.

OOh! I'm so excited! She looks beautiful. My very first thought was that they will use Kaya's face mold. She doesn't look asian to me, I know a lot of asian people. But she could have one parent asian and one parent african or something.. hmm...

edited to add that although it's not well-known, parts of Ireland have what is called the "black irish" from Spain or something, where purely Irish people look almost african.
Her father could be Black Irish and her mother could be asian. hmm?

Now I actually don't know about the Asian thing...while this is not ALWAYS true, don't you think she would have an Asian last name?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">This would easily go along with her being biracial, her mom could be Asian and her father could be Scottish, or something (hence the last name). That would also explain the un-Asian name of Jess. If she IS Asian, I will be changing her name to something that's a bit more Asian sounding, [img]smile.gif[/img] .

One thing that crossed my mind though. If she IS part, lets just be vague and say Asian, and part Scottish, shouldnt the dark hair win out over the red? I know red hair is a recessent gene or something spelled like that, but it still seems odd.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I don't know anything about this, lol, but I would THINK the darker would win out. What if...her mom was only half Asian, but her father was all red-head? LOL, I'm just holding on to the slightest bit of hope here!

One of my best friends is half Philipino, (her mom), and her father is very Caucasian, and I can imagine Jess looking a bit like her.

It definitely sounds like she's going to be one of the two dolls I want though- red head or Asian.

So, since we know there's a book signing on the 10th, do we have any more insight about her actually coming out around then?

This is so much fun speculating. I just hope none of us (like me, lol) gets their hopes up and then is disappointed when she's not Asian/red headed/etc. I hope everyone is happy with how she ends up looking!

But, like I said earlier, I really think Jess being Asian means that Emily will most likely stay true to the books and be a red head.

Well, I'm betting my money that she's either Asian or a redhead. Either way, she's coming to my house, and I don't mean for just a visit [img]wink.gif[/img] . Oh, but WAAAAAAAAA!!! I already have a list of AG's I want about 10 dolls long! Grr! AG, why do you have to keep making dolls I like?!?!?!

Angie that is so interesting. I love how that happens. I know of one family with four kids and three of which have flaming red hair. Yet their parents are a medium brown. Go figure. Out of curiosity though, how old are your kids? Because hair usually gets darker when you are older. My mom who has dark brown hair was actually a light blonde up until the age of like 10!!! How does THAT happen??? I think I am the only person I know whose hair actually got LIGHTER as I grew up. Weird.....

When we were all speculating on Jess I said I thought she sounded asian and everyone was like no no no she wouldnt be the name doesn't sound like it at all but your name doesn't have to acutally be Chinese or Japanese to be asian, so... [img]confused.gif[/img]
