[sigh] There goes the neighbourhood.
Well, first of all there's nothing wrong with posting "i hear/he heard" things on this board. It's a forum. It creates interesting topics.
What I heard about the Sting gig has nothing to do with Steve Holmes. I don't thinkg Steve even said anything about it.
Secondly why is that negative? Keith is still a monster drummer doing monster gigs. So what if he has a laid back groove. He mentions it in his MD interview. Playing back in my opinion feels great.
Abe Laborial Jr was doing the Sting gig as well. He was also let go. He also plays very back.
So? I don't think it damaged his rep much. Not every drummer is for every gig. Big deal. We can only learn from the reasons why they were let go. How is that negative?

Lock this thread. It's useless.

I don't know what your on about...but...sorry to break it to you but Steve is the owner of the site and its thanks to him that drummers from distant corners of the world have a place to interact with experienced..pro...nice...open-minded musicians and be exposed to great music!
Steve also happens to be a killer player...me and my teacher have spend about 20 minutes of my last lesson watching his instructional dvd and my teacher thinks he is great!!! Congrats again on the dvd steve...and on the altered cds !!!
again..flarob may have opinions that some people disagree with (not excluding myself) but hey...everyone has different opinions...i accept others views etc...and if there something i like i'll take it on board..if not i wont...and flarob has made good points..not every drummer is perfect for every situation (appart from Vinnie) haha as GAMG would say i jest...but yeah...so what if keith's playing is laid back..hes still a killer player!
I wanted to stay out of this but

Yes please lock this thread, and please ban Stickman and DrumMaster.
It's pretty out how when two people believe in something the others don't they get grouped together.
First Me and SDK, then Rob and Groove, now me and Rob.
Give me a break please. The funny thing is that a legend like Peter walks right and shuts us all up. It just happens he said the same thing Rob did, in lighter politically correct way.
Stickman you have no idea who I am and what gigs I'm doing. For all you know I can be Roy Haynes, or I can be Curt Bisquera. Or maybe I just produced something that out beloved VC played.
Maybe, I'm a car salesman. Either way, it's none of your business, what I do, what Steve Holmes does, what Rob does, or anyone on here.
Even if I wasn't a musician, I still have an opinion.
So stop wasting space on the net. Go talk people who actually care about what you have to say, because we don't.
The point is that he flames professional players on the internet! If you want to have a conversation with your buddies in private about it then do it! But on the internet...where people type in text and search engines like google then find this text, and relate it to searches...(example=Dom F) All this negativity comes up!!! Don't you get it? His response about damaging peoples reputation gives him away!! He knows that its slander ! Public slander since it on the net! I guess I didn't tell you what kind of student I am, but I am a LAW student. What I can do for all you negative pro musician bashers is
1) I can contact the pros that you have been bashing and direct them to this site
2) I will then post their responses to your incredibly negative, impolite, nasty remarks about them and their careers here on this site! How does that sound. I can do it too. Just keep up the bashing. there is such a thing as professional ethics. And by showing your disrespect in public to the great drumming figures of our time, you are displaying the lack of ethics mentioned. Go up to Dom to HIS FACE and say what you guys have been saying...see the response you will get! That is my point!

Listen man...you are obviously not a drummer. you don't know anything about being a drummer...all you do in here is spread bad feelings, talk badly about people and create unhappiness. Guess what!! What I am going to do is form a coalition of pro players from around the world direct them to this site. show them the absolute negativity you and the others you mentioned are spreading and we are going to SPAM this site so hard that it will make your head spin. Steve can ban us and we will immediately sign up again under different names. To counter act YOU paraflam! You should be happy that I don't know who you are because you will be in deep sh**!!! I know some people did bash his playing...but from reading over...most people just said that they disliked his playing..and then went on to describe what they disliked...that is ok...but to bash..i dont really agree with either...i respect any drummer that makes a living from it as long as he's doing for the "right" honest reason and not just to be famous or to make big money or whatever...
Again Flarob has bashed Vinnie before..but..i'm sure that everyone has learned something from the arguments here and improvement in the quality of discussion will hopefully improve....
