Ok, I've just read "robbery".

I see the following possibilities.

1. Be a benk teller
2. Be some random guy doing his banking
3. Be the guy coming through the door
4. Wait for a bit and then be a cop/negotiator

My thinking is:
1. someone should be the guy chris sticks his gun at. I think that would be fun.

2. If you're a random person then you can a) do as you're told, b) try to run away, or c) attempt to take on armed intruders.
The latter two would normally end up in a person being shot, and it would be awkward, I think ..

eg "<so and so> decided to run for it. He turned and sprinted for the door.

Ha! you missed, becuase technically you aren't allowed to say you hit me. Which in turn stuffs up the whole thread.

3. Chris, do you have someone lined up for your partner? is e and NPC? is he open for taking? I'm not sure I want to do it because I don't know ehere you want to go with this one. Also I think early posters need to select different sides, you can't have everyone be a criminal, and then all the cops be npcs.

4. The cops obviously come into this later. But I think someone will probably have to do it.

And so I think that if this one if to work then several people are going to have to be regular posters. That's my take. So I don't think I'll post just yet.

I've intentionally left the partner position open. It can be an NPC if nobody takes it, but it'd be cooler if someone came in as my partner, as there'd be a bit more variety. As for where I want the thread to go, Incident isn't called a Free-Form RPG for nothing, is it? It goes where we want it to.

Characters I came up with were the same as Frost's, really. Which is good, shows that the thread has the right idea so far. Now all we need is more people, so it gets going.

Now that it's the holidays I have the ability to post a lot more, without a group of assholes standing over me yelling "double space! double space!" which is a relief. I'm on MSN most nights from 8:30 till 11:00pm if people want to discuss things with a more instant response.

That's all from me for now, I'll be on again tomorrow no doubt.

I will be re-reading everything anyway (I have forgotten).

You can edit your own posts, but I think that it might be better if it were all done at the same time, or since some of your posts are towards the end and were largely influenced by other posts, I think we'll have to delete many of the intruding posts and then see what the story is like.

No thanks. I wouldn't want to start another thread anywhere near as unsuccessful as that. Nuking the whole thing seemed to be the only remedy for a very depressing story. And if we aren't careful, I'm a little worried that Chris' Robbery might go the same way. But at least now, we could always use the expression, "Going the way of the bomb thread."

About Magic, I need a deck to play with (well, I'm in the mood of thinking that I do) and I'd like my own, because I've never bothered to get any before. But they are a little pricy for pieces of paper, and I'd rather spend my money on plastic army men.

And now that you've mentioned it, I've decided to keep the full stop in my name. It's part of my character now...

I believe the first thread to die because of a nuke was the Mall, in which Clarke's "hand held nuclear device, capable of bla, bla, bla..." managed to destroy a thread which actually was mildly interesting. So maybe things should "go the way of the mall thread".

Has anyone noticed that the Fantasy RP thread is *technically* still going? I mean, it's not locked, so if we wanted to continue with it, it's all there for us. Except that a couple of characters don't post anymore, but we could ignore them.

Holy shit. An update here. While checking that the Fantasy thread Hadn't actually been locked, I found that neither has the mall. In fact, the last post is from Tiberius:

Could somebody please join the robbery? Maybe I should progress it a bit further, and then people would have a better idea. Really, I don't know where to take it, but if anyone else had an idea, they could post. I'm sure I won't mind as long as you don't nuke it. Why doesn't somebody come in as an undercover cop, in the bank? Just another possible character.

I'll get around to posting in the Sci-Fi thread pretty soon. And as soon as Chris's parents get jobs, he'll be back at the bus stops. As for the other threads, I haven't been bothered reading them.

I found another RP site on hostboard. The re-skinning of virtually Everything seems a bit over the top to me, I prefer Incident's look. It took me about 2 minutes to find the "post a reply" button, they'd turned it into a little animated gif. The threads are kind of cool, I'll link you guys to it if they reply to my post. I think it's dead actually, the last posts were in June this year.

So good job people, we're doing better than someone else!

Gonna go now, it's midnight, and I'm pretty tired. But I'll be on tomorrow night, if I'm not studying for maths. I still have lots of Algebra to study. I've basically given up on Calculus though, I've decided it's fucking stupid. I should scrape through an achieved in the exams, but I don't really care too much. I'm not gonna be a physicist.

We could have a little go at the Magic thing again. I could put some decks together, and lend out to people that wanted to play. You can buy them at Toy World, but that is getting a bit extreme. They are expensive, and you might beat us all with a preconstructed deck with fancy new powerful cards in it.

No one in a new thread can run out of ammo now. When it happened it was good. If at all possible, I agree that we should keep the old thread up and going, with some modifications. If I can help, please ask. I wasn't up to date in that thread, so I might end up having a catastrophic effect if let loose unguided in there.
Or so I would like to think.

At the moment my excuse for not posting in the in character threads is that I have exams coming up. After exams my excuse will be that I can do what I like outside and waste my time getting exercise and whatnot because it will be the summer holidays.
Has anyone noticed that all of the "Instant Graemlins" are the exact same ones from Messenger? I personally don't use the ones in Messenger, but I've seen them in the little pull down window. Well, at least they say different things when you hover your mouse over them, I guess.
Magic is expensive, and I think we just went through a little phase a while ago where we dug them out of our closets, thought "Hey, that would be cool to have another go at", and then forgot about again. Instead of that, we could learn useful skills in the holidays that could serve us for the rest of our lives. I'm going to concentrate on some juggling, maybe some card magic and possibly learning the alphabet backwards. (I nearly have that one down-pat).
I believe the reason the Mall thread wasn't locked was probably the fact that nobody was going to post in there anyway. If you like we could just delete the nuke post (after storing a copy of it somewhere, of course). That would make the whole thing a lot nicer.

BTW, this little scroll down pages thing on the reply page is really neat.

But never mind.

Going the way of the bomb thread would mean that it never got started. For example, "It appears the Robbery may be going the way of the bomb thread".

Going the way of the mall thread would mean that it was immensely popular and suddenly died. I can't think of an example here. If anyone does (Gerald?) then stick it here for laughs. Or if you think of other crappy expressions that we could patent or whatever.

Heh, "Kelly Jones went the way of the mall". Heh.

Perhaps there should be [heh] [/heh] tags. Perhaps not, but I think I'm going to make a point of using them sometime.

I have exams for the next 3 days, so I'm not planning on posting. Has anyone fixed the sci-fi thread yet?
