If this is instant messaging through Hostboard you can block those. They are both banned from this message board, and aren't faring too well over on the other one either.

The Assassins game does look very cool. I don't think something like that where we are would have such a successful launching, though. We could certainly do something with water pistols, or whatever, but we would need to limit the entrants to people we knew, and we don't have enough people to make that too interesting. It looks like uni (and the requirements to reach it) could weed out a lot of the lamers, and send the good quality humans to places in a higher concentration.
I shouldn't think that sort of thing survives into the workplace, which is a little disheartening, or perhaps saddening, but I should be gaming for a while yet, though that was what I told myself about all of those other hobbies I got bored of. I'm not really sure what kind of point I was trying to make here, actually.
Anyway, sounds like fun.

It has come to the attention of a few that the holidays aren't going to be all that suitable for the next lan. It's a little far away, and people are going away and all the rest. My house is open if we get a bit of warning, and we have the lounge which can be cleared of furniture if need be. I'm not sure about noise, but headphones would be optimal. We'd be running a dedicated server this time, but might need to steal another switch if we get any more people. Ben might be able to make it this time, and as of tomorrow I've sent out a cd with FuhQuake, some 24bit textures, the TF maps, some mods and some bots if anyone doesn't have what they need. There's also a program that I think might be the easiest thing to run a dedicated server with, so we're sweet on that front.
The Quake Mission Packs cannot be run with FuhQuake. They're NetQuake only, so you'll need something along the lines of TomazQuake or JoeQuake to run them. The difference is the physics, and the ease of multiplayer gaming. Joe is basically Fuh for NQ. This sort of restriction applies to a bunch of other mods too, but levels can be played in multiplayer (and all new weapons) with no problems whatsoever. The Quake Done Quick videos (of which three are included) also need Joequake. It fits on a floppy, and shouldn't take too long at all to download. It isn't on the CD.

If we have a PC to spare (it could happen), or if you can bring your own, non-regulars should be welcome to come along, if only to provide more players for CivSaw. Hopefully we'll get some Doom action going this time too, and the Nintendo will be set up downstairs just in case people get super bored.

Some people in the computer game's industry do pretty crazy stuff. I think that's the place to be. Nick showed me a kickflip competition (no prior skating experience). In some studios they have regular wargaming nights, not to mention the inevitable LANs - I mean, an office full of gamers on high performance developing computers...

At Girls' High they have, or had, the Male Support Group. That was a group of male teachers who did crazy stuff. At Boys' High they would be shot, although our Auzzie music teacher got away with the funny tie thing.

My primary school teachers always had fun, especially at the Talent Quests and school camps. The teachers' item was _always_ the funniest. They'd had years more practise than us.

I've been reading about the Wizard of New Zealand (and that little town, too). He got out of filling out a Census form because he claimed he disappeared on Census night. He also organised a protest when Telecom starting making red phone booths blue - he repainted them red, by hand, later enlisting the help of a pacifist army.

The Wizard went around the country doing rain-dances and making maps with New Zealand at the top. But he could; He was exempt from tax.

People out there are having fun, even after university. Strange, freaky people; But most of us are halfway there already. I think there will be plenty of toy seals in our futures, if we only try for them.

Yea, but when you get here you sort of realize that at most you'll be in this place for about 54 years. Which is as long as you spend at High chool. And now that High school's finished, it seems that it went really fast. What do you do then? But still...

The problem with being in a hall is that as soon as one person gets a cold, everyone has it. It sucks.

And breakfast gets cleared away at 830. What the hell is that?

There are still plenty of people in Kaos that have left uni. They might not be in the killing rounds, but they still go to the parties and whatnot, and if they wanted to make an effort to be in the killing rounds I'm sure they could. Or organise a round involving the entire town. Of course, if you move away...
But yea. There's still plenty of time until our lives become mind-numbingly boring. ie, we end up with jobs or something.

Honestly, I don't think that Russel wrote that. He couldn't have even copied and pasted that correctly. Perhaps now they are gone the board will progress a bit quicker. However, I do think we need another "??am, Abandoned carpark" thread. Something not too intense, or based on any form of story line or rules. Anybody up for that?

Seathia and Karlin were banned because they broke our rules. When they were here, they weren't posting to participate- they were posting to bend this site to their own will. If they are so desparate to coninue what they were doing, why not make their own site where everything is how they like it- the rules and the threads.

We gave them a shot at conforming and they didn't. Anyone can create a site on hostboard, simply because if we all had to share one then we would probably have some issues with the Men's Issues people. We have a problem with occult people. Please leave us alone, and make your own board that is suited to your needs.

( And, to the moderaters, please let Sponge read my post before you block him- perhaps reasoning with them is the best tactic we have.)

I had an interesting day. Or past couple of days, actually. This is all thanks to my new friends, the kaos idiots.

Someone decided it would be funny to have me executed. So (and I think it was actually tuesday) one day I go to read the notice board and here's a poster with a picture of me, accusing me of 'impersonating an officer'. Execution 1pm Friday.

Anyways, around 3pm yesterday I began to formulate a plan. If I didn't show up, they'd just hunt me down and throw me in a river. So not showing up was out.
Next I attempted to get a boat, since I would be executed (and there was mention of a firing squad so I knew how this was going to be run, more or less(less, actually)). ie, there would be a river behind me, instead of a concrete wall.

The boat idea didn't work out, but I struck upon the idea of constructing a bridge of some sort to throw across at the last moment. We couldn't find any wood, though (yea, I'm kinda on a tight budget here and we don't have a basement crammed full of useful items like at home), but on the way to the warehouse I came across a shopping trolley.

A shopping trolley was just what I had been looking for! (Actually it wasn't, but in the absence of any decent ideas it was the stupidest thing I could think of), so we took a trolley home. Not that we had to, there are over 20 shopping trolleys parked at my hall, they're just sitting in a bike shed. I've no idea why.

But I couldn't push the trolley myself, no, I had to go and get shot. Somebody else would have to push the trolley into the river so that I could get across. But Westie had a lecture, and so did Scott. And we were running out of people who would actually do it.

Eventually Oliver volunteered. You guys don't know Oliver, but if you met him, you'd laugh. Imagine my brother, but with sideburns and curly hair bleached to light ginger, taking philosophy, and obsessed with Spongebob Squarepants. Yes, these people exist.

Anyway, so Oliver and I go down at 11pm to hide the shopping trolley in the bushes.

So the plan, with a few added bits stood at this:

1.Use chocolate money to bribe a couple of guys that I don't really know in my Astronomy class (who are in Kaos) into helping me out.

2.Show up at my own execution voluntarily, aremed with a water pistol, an umbrella (for a shield) and a bottle of rexona labelled "Toxic Nerve Gas of some sort". And a trenchcoat, of course, to conceal Batman's utility belt.

3.Attempt to buy time by requesting a Pixie Caramel and/or singing The song that doesn't end.

4.Eventually (hopefully at the right time) Oliver comes barelling down the far bank wielding a shopping trolley(and you've never seen anyone sp adept at handling a shopping trolley), singing his own theme song, and slam the trolley straight into the river.

5.The guys in the crowd that I've enlisted start shooting, I deploy my 'shield' (umbrella) if need be, fire the 'Toxic Nerve Gas' at my firing squad, then using the semi-submerged trolley, I leap across the river whilst shouting "To infinity and beyond!" to safety, or a watery doom, The Avon of course being about helf a foot deep.

6.Oliver shouts "viva la Resistance!" and we run away giggling.

This was all good until I got up this morning. I went to a math lecture, and slept through it as usual. I was marginally surprised that the trolley was where we left it.
Anyway, so I go to my astronomy lecture, and managed to bride Jason and Jaime into helping me out. All good so far. But then the idiot 'Black Knight' (William wearing carboard armour all week) showed up, so I bribed him with a chocolate Australian 20c and told him to fuck off.

So we showed up and eventually some people arrived. I even got offered a last request, so kept to the plan and asked for a Pixie Caramel. To my surpise, this hadn't been done before (or it had, but was still funny). While we were waiting for something Oliver was convinced by Westie (who didn't understand the plan and feared for my survival, also he had a class to go to and probably wanted to see a trolley go in the river) to push the trolley. But, fickle things those shopping ttroleys are, it bounced a bit and went almost the whole way across the Avon. Uncool. And it didn't land flat either.

The sh!tte was about to hit the fan, I had to act fast. Whipping out the 'Toxic Nerve Gas', I attacked the firing squad, who, a little confused from a shopping trolley being thrown into the river before their eyes, kinda stood around dumfounded, The Minister of Confusion (who I think was on my side here) shot at the firing squad even though he was in it, which of course threw the whole thing into turmoil, and I, seeing a split second window of opportunity, leapt across the river, losing all myweapons and equipment save the can of TNG that I had in my hand and soiling my trenchcoat.

Victory! (to some extent.)

My jeans are still in the drier. If I can find a scanner I'll post a picture of my own wanted poster.

So that was my day.
