I must disagree with this entirely. If it were my kid the discussion would not be up for debate. His sports career is over and he will be working on getting his life together. It should not be a debate about can he play or not. If anything we should be talking about what can be done to help this young man get his life together and make something more out of his life. And it is sad that if he is allowed to play, no matter how "gifted" or "talented", he will continue down the road that he has been traveling for years now.
As far as "second" chances, well what ever happened to standing up and taking responsibility for your actions, paying for what you do, and honestly I don't see that that has happened yet. This young man had an excellent chance at DB only a short time ago and completely BLEW IT. DB football program and playing for them could have advanced his efforts to better himself and continue his "sports career", getting him attention and notice from some pretty big name colleges, but now the most attention this young man will get is right here on this forum. That says quite a bit to me, but then what do I know? I am just a parent trying to teach a son to take responsibility for his actions and try to make good choices both on and off the field.
wonder how long it will take the vhsl to make a decision.

People need to find something other than talking about him or any other player. I know its a surprise, but is this the 2nd or 3rd thread on him. He's there, lets move on.

You might want to grab a shirt to throw on Phil Robbins, because some reason I doubt it will be over when it comes to him. I don't see him quite rolling over, allowing something that could hurt his team and might not be 100% legal by the book going on without causing a bit of chaos.
He'll probably hire someone with a video camera to catch the first time the kid jaywalks [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif[/img]

I know the reason he was unable to play for PV. Considering this reason I would have to say that it was a county policy that he not play because he violated a serious rule that was in place. Norton is not a county school even though they are governed by VHSH guidlines. It would be soley up to the coach, which in this case is Jimbo to determine whether or not he should play. If I were Jimbo I would just make sure it was a good decision for the team and that the kid was a team player. Kids are going to mess up time and time again and if Jimbo sees that he needs a chance then I am sure Jimbo will do that if he sees fruit and change coming from the young man.

The reason the VHSL may not let him play is lack of a parent livening in the Norton school district (A guardian is not enough for the VHSL)
