I don't see him being the deciding factor in any game that JIB plays this year. I could care less if the kid plays or not, I'm just glad I haven't read the first couple hundred posts on this subject. The sooner this dies, the better.

Re: Pinkston
AMEN, LET IT DIE. I can't believe that this has gone on this long and nobody put a stop to it 1. BECAUSE HE IS UNDER 18 AND 2. HE IS A HIGH SCHOOL KID.
Honestly, you mods and admins let things go too far sometimes.
Like I said before, if he was 18 or over and out of hight school, then go for it. But he is underage and in high school.

Re: Pinkston
Bring out the brooms and sweep it under the carpet . No wonder many kids these days know nothing of personel responsibility , choices and consequences . I don't see age as having any bearing . I don't even agree w/ papers withholding names of juveniles that commit crimes . Put that laundry out for all to see , maybe then someone might just give xtra thought before doing something illegal or stupid . I'm not even referencing the Pinkston kid this is all generalities . I have no clue what he did and don't really care but that's just my take .

Re: Pinkston
Agreed. I'm just bored with the whole situation though. On to the next drama I say.

And your point is? He's a public figure.

Re: Pinkston
On this board under-18s are talked about constantly... they're practically treated like celebrities. I didn't realize the rule was "only say nicey things about the kiddies"
The convo is relavent to the major topic of the school season - LPD football (& eligibility).
Those who don't like it - just move on to your next topic of choice. Not a big deal. He hasn't been convicted of any crime in the forum jury here.

Re: Pinkston
What you fail to realize is that this young man has been a part of sports his entire life. Since he was old enough to play. It was not enough before to keep him out of trouble, what is so special about Norton? Do you honestly think a few months at Burton can save this young man? Telling him, we won't think about what you have done at another school, you just work hard here and it will all be forgotten. What happens when he gets into trouble again? Who will step in and rescue him then? And why do some feel as if this young man is being bashed? It's about hoping that someone steps in and makes him realize that he is accountable for what he does. Sweeping it under the rug will only send the wrong message I don't care if Burton's whole season depended on this young man, it does NOTHING about teaching him right from wrong. It's like when a celebrity gets caught drunk driving and is sentenced to community service and no jail time, they are all sorry for getting caught, but could care less about being sorry for what they have done until some hard nosed judge puts them in jail. When they get out it's suddenly the best thing that could have happened and it saved their lives. I am just surprised that most of the concern is over his playing and not over the real problems that brought him to this point.

Re: Pinkston
He isn't a public figure until he is P-A-I-D. to play high school ball.
LIKE I SAID BEFORE, IT IS HIS LIFE! LET THE AUTHORITIES HANDLE IT.
Seriously, you all never cease to amaze me at how quick most of you are to judge people, even children. Wit the exeption of a handful of you all that are commenting on this kid, none of you have any children at all. What if it was YOUR kid being crucified on here? I never once said I agreed with what he did or is doing, just that he is a kid. What if it was a kid playing p-nut football and was a heck-of-a ballplayer and he did something like what this kid was supposed to do? Would you still "crucify" him in the same way? Let the authorities deal with him and not us. NSSB, if he was your kid, would you be sitting still letting this board do this to one of your own. What about you elp? Or what about you lung? No, he is NOT a public figure as someone stated above. He is a private individual, not elected to any office nor is he being paid to play ball. I think that none of you would sit still one minute for something like this. What you all are saying and doing to this kid is just as criminal(morally) as what this kid was supposed to have done. I suppose none of you have ever done anything wrong in your life, have you? Just sit back and think about what you all are saying a doing. It is just wrong.
