Have you considered that 58% of the coal revenue funds returned to this county comes the Appalachia area? I wouldn't go running my mouth till i knew what was going on.

If it was not for Appalachia at the present. Most of Wise County would be bankrupt.

It's all of Wise County. And i think from what i have been told and hearing. Even now some Pound students are saying they will go to Clintwood before they will combine and go to Kelly?
Yet there is no problem? No one has no issues?

Well if the 6 schools do consoldate, it sounds like they want get to may students from the other school. I guess what I'm trying to say is this.

Pound / Kelly - Some of Pounds students say they will go to Clintwood.

St.Paul / Coeburn - Some St.Paul Students say they will go to Castlewood.

Appy / Pv - Some Appy students say they will go to Norton.


Now lets say 50 to 100 of the students decide to go to another school, instead of being consoldated. Now that would give Kelly, Pv, and Coeburn half to little over half the students. So way you need to build new schools? Why not renovate Kelly, PV, and Coeburn. I don't know though maybe someone could help me out.

Methinks that Merlin is a Wise Man, but don't know about ThunderStruck. Seriously, Merlin has made some good points and have others. If consolidation is going to happen, and most likely it is, why can't all the folks involved work for the betterment of Wise County Schools. I was an 8th Grader when Big Stone and East Stone consolidated. No major problems, at least that I can remember. Of course I wasn't taught to dislike folks from East Stone or anything of the sort. If all the bickering and name calling continues, it will get ugly.

because pennington is the past of lee high and since you want to talk about past trophies that appalahia has you might as well count them 58% of millions is all nice but what is it 80% of the money to run the schools come from the state so obviously the 58 wouldnt amount to a whole lot, it couldnt be more than 20% and thats if every dime from the county came from appy which it doesnt and im not your son and am thankful for that you do realize that not everybody gets on here to post 5000 times like you do some of us read and not just react by the way i sincerely hope you wasnt trying to threaten with the face to face talk sure sounds like it so a person cant say what they think on here for fear of someone being in their face sounds like an attitude to worry about not someone voicing an opinon and just because you dont like it deal with it by the way the song is acdc not appy just because appy uses something doesnt make it theirs just like them contributing to the county doesnt make them own it

Thunderstruck, you need to stop worrying about consolidation and start hitting the books and pay more attention in class. That earlier reply of yours was an English teachers' worst nightmare. I suppose punctuation has no meaning in your posts.....one big run on sentence! I've noticed a few other of your posts and your spelling is atrocious. Believe me, no one takes you seriously when you come on here looking like an uneducated hick.

Well Mr. G no matter how civil you try to be. It seems your gonna have some.
I myself have taken on what is right for Wise County and the Children.
Im not disputing anything. My real concern as i told you is that if this is going to be done. That it is done right. And with enough input, that it can be accomplished and be something we can be proud of.
But as usual on here you always have a few who come out of the wood works and want to turn things to stupidity.
I will say when this did first start up in 2003. Appy citizen did more to stand up for all of Wise County than most know. Now their labled the trouble makers? Had they not stepped in at the time. How many trailers would our kids be having classes in? Until enough money was there to renovate?
I am trying to put a few things out there many need to consider.
You cannot say it at board and administration meetings. No one seem to listen. So i put them here. Where i know we have many that tune in to the wise county gossiper. It's the best way to get out the information.
Like i told others. You can post something on here. In 30 minutes it will be all over all wise county school and throught all the system in an hour. Not bad huh.
Those who are on the board are not i will not vote for consolidation. They want to know how to answer the citizens questions.
If anything. There is a huge failure between the board and administration. And a huge lack of mistrust between even the board members themselves.
Say what you want. If people don't begin to be honest with themselves and others. This will become one huge mess and one huge battle ground for Wise County.
And the attitude of people like Thunderstruck your getting exactly what keeps the crap fueld. Trying to hurt one town's pride and not understanding anything they talk about.
