so i know your all dying for a rewview about the philly show. well guess what motherfuckers?????.....you got it.

i got to the spectrum at about 6 p.m. and parked my car next to a few guys tailgaiting before the show so we struck up a conversation and i ended up having a few beers with them. one of the beers they gave me was called "monster ale" and was 11% alcohol by volume. pretty fucking strong for a brew with a taste reminisent of sour mash wiskey but not so much so that its like drinking straight JD. a must try for this bunch. anyway, i went in to the show on my own just as death from above was ending their set. they are interesting sounding duet and actually sounded pretty good. all in all i would say that they have a lot of room to expand and structure their sound better. then queens came on. oh man, they rocked hard. and just before they came on, north and cortini came down this tunnel that led back to the main dressing room area (i looked down the tunnel and saw the door they came out of). i tried to get their attention but they weren't having it which is completely understandable. i might have had good intentions to just shake hands and say "you rock" but other people are a little more "enthusiastic". anywho, qotsa did an awesome set. just before little sister, josh pointed to some guy in the crowd who apparently had given him some shit earlier and said "hey man im sorry i had to bang your sister, it was a bet and i had to hold up my end of the wager, she was a bad lay though". they also did a new song called "the fun machine took a shit and died". pretty decent track. then the main event, nin. aw man, what a show. they had this drap in the front similar to what maynard was behind when we saw apc but it covered the whole band. then they kicked into love is not enough and followed that up with you know what you are. some other memorable songs they played were wish, suck, eraser, right where it belongs, head like a hole, closer and hurt. during closer trent jumped off stage into the crowd and after the song he got back on stage and said "who was i making out with?...male or female?" i wish in the pit for wish and as soon as i jumped in there i got nailed right in the jaw. felt great yesterday, lemme tell ya. they also had the drape come down for eraser and right where it belongs and played some like crazy movie clips of bugs and war and bush. when bush came on the screen i immediately threw up the finger and mostly everyone followed suit. all-in-all, great fucking show. i couldn't have asked for a better set. cant wait until they come back around.

in other news, the first venus/aquarius song that i really am going to/have talk(ed) to anyone about is in postwriting and editing stages lyrically and is being arranged as well. i'm contemplating trying to get greedy after the streetpunk destroyers recording is finished and get it down as some kind of single or recording to be used at a later date before my trip. we'll see

An awesome song. Right now, I'm dwelling on "green is the colour" and "high hopes."

More (the soundtrack from the film)is coming in just after Animals. That is, has been, and probably always will be my favourite album. There are just so few that perfectly utilize every second.

Alright, well thanks for the B-sides burn. That is fucking awesome. Most all the songs are great, but Digital Bath acoustic is beyond sweet, as are the other acoustics. And we won't even talk about how fucking good the Skynrd cover of Simple Man is.

yeah. all i have to say is this: hot chip - over and over. actually, zappa's burnt weenie sandwich has been slipping in too, but i've listened to over and over on repeat 3 times in a row at this point. it woke me back up from not really having been 100% concious yet today
