two guys where arrested.
policemen felt surprised.
in the cellar of these two guys, the policemen found a statue.
in front of the statue, they found a book, called,
gods reincarnation - VC was reborn.
around the statue, they found hundreds of red roses.
on the wall, hundreds of pictures of their hero, illuminated by pink coloured candles.
they where arrested, because of disturbing the neighbours.
music was too loud. and it was not just music.
it was only drumming.
a small sequence of a 5/4 groove over 7 in triplet feel.
in front of the musicspeakers, the police found some pillows.
neighbours heard sometimes, when the 5/4 groove over 7 in triplet feel
stops for 7/64 notes something like begging.

some neighbours thought, their must be happening something criminal.

but it was nothing else, but the typical admiring of an idol by puberty kids.

nothing serious. the one admires madonna, the other admires chocolate cakes,
the next a small sequence of a 5/4 groove over 7 in triplet feel, played by
VC.

it's all okay. and don't forget.
don't allow others gods to rest besides your "the only one god".
it can hurt yourself.

Famous Drummer Breaks Probation!

Vinnie Colaiuta was caught in possession of drumsticks smaller than SD1 Generals. He was found with a pair of 7A's. Police Officer Philly Roach witnessed him attempting to play a swung figure in an underground jazz lab. Many patrons fainted and fell sick, as the way Vinnie played them were not authentic enough. Police were called, and Mr Colaiuta was promptly arrested.

Mr Colauita is being held at the in the DJ booth at the Rainbow club until trial. He will be expedited to the Twins Lounge Courthouse in DC, being as this is a federal crime against the country.

I don't think I'm a jazz snob in the respect that I think jazz is better or more noble than other forms of pop music. But, I think jazz is jazz. I disagree with Gary Husband to the extent he seems to say that jazz is anything that's creative and free. To me real jazz has its conventions. I wrote before that some have called jazz American Classical Music. I agree with that. Jazz originate in America. Some will tell you that jazz has certain elements: swing, improvization and the blues or some variation of blues. If you change any of those elements you have some sort of jazz fusion. I agree with that too. Real jazz is dated. It's cliche-ish. Very little true jazz is being recorded now-a-days.

As for Vinnie, I haven't heard him play what I would consider the traditional bop drumming sound. But, from what I have heard of Vinnie, I have no doubt he could do it if he wanted to. And from what I've heard of GH I'm sure he can do it to if he wanted.

BTW, by traditional bop sound, check out the video clip of Ed Soph on Drummerworld. What a great feel and sense of time he has. It's not just his phrasing. It's the way he's on top of the beat, like a stone skipping across the water: http://www.drummerworld.com/Videos/edsoph1.html
