and one more thing, and then i think ill have spoke my peace on this subject...LIncoln did own slaves-11th grade US and Virginia history..he didnt care either way about the slaves, he just wanted the Union to stay as 1. and besides that the africans were the ones getting paid to send the slaves to us. Not like we were going down there with ropes and horses and lassoing us some black angus slaves.

To counter this, allow me to share something with you I learned as early as Kindergarten...two wrongs don't make a right. Just because Africans were selling their own doesn't mean it was okay to buy them and treat them like we did.

This statement is correct. Before the civil war, President lincoln was neutral on the slave issue.

Lincoln didnt mind slavery as long as it stayed in the South. He was totally against the spread of slavery and as was said, totally against the Union splitting.

again the slave trade during the "good old days" which you apparently think of them as only existed because the southern American states had DEMAND for slaves... England and the rest of Western Europe which had used slaves in their overseas colonies had stopped their contributions to the slave trade by the time our cash crop plantations sprung up..
