..or be working towards it with 3 years to finish. I know, I've jumped that hoop before. Surely there are 6 teachers in Wise County in each firld of study that has their masters...as long as you have that and an electronic classroom, you can have all the DE ya want.

To have a better education? To have an idea of what courses you enjoy to steer you towards a major? To be better prepared for college? To me none of this is about actually getting college credit - it's about a more complete education.

For MECC to offer English 111 and 112 there has to be an in house teacher for the students capable of teacher. Same goes with Pre Cal.

Why not require career prep in 8th grade and then let them choose their classes?...but really, how many 12-16 year olds really know what they want to do for the rest of their lives?? High school should be high school....if they wanna go to college through anything besides DE or AP classes, they need to graduate early and go to college...it's that simple. Too many folks expect too much from an underfunded institution that we refer to as education. You could always home school em, get them their GED by 12 and out of college by 16..lol

If it is done through electronic classroom there just has to be a qualified teacher on the camera. MECC doesn't pay DE teachers..your pay is the same you would get teaching regular HS courses.

Exactly! How many do? And when you're told "you get these classes and only these classes and no options to explore other subjects or to explore them more closely" how does that help?

Yes they DO have to be told to study the basics, but why not offer more to them to help them figure out where to go after high school? Not everyone is going to want to study History, English, Math in college.
