When I looked this up last year the UVA-Wise Handbook said financial aid is NOT offered for dual enrollment.

Should take it through MECC then...classes count the same credit. If a person wants to go to UVA Wise, they shoudl have to pay the college cost...cuz it's available at MECC for less than half than what it costs to go to UVAW.

the "kids" taking college classes are more than likely the smarter ones from each schools and probally know how to act in public. and i dont find it a problem for juniors and seniors who are probally 17 years or older wondering around a college campus.

Really it pretty much is, you wind up with half days or more. And there only 2 colleges in Wise Co. How many courses were you wanting to offer, that aren't already in the schools?

All classes offered within the school are by MECC. precal, english 111 and 112, basic Comp. all are MECC based.

why not pay the same and go to uva-wise if possibly?

So a St. Paul student should have to drive to BSG to go to MECC?
This just goes back to equal and fair - the opportunities are not at all equal when it comes to forcing dual enrollment for students that want higher level courses.

Where do you get anything that ties me to working in Appy? My point is I know most schools have the electronic classroom...and it could easily be used for DE...more course offerings is the same sham they used to get block scheduling...course offerings at the schools actually shrunk as DE was offered...same reasoning is being used as a basis for consolidation..and it's the same sham. They have the capability now to teach any class to all the county High Schools...so IMO it is fair.

It's still far from free! The public school system should be providing these at no cost.

There are many students who live in extremely low income households - how is this fair to them? They can't pay for it and they can't get there.
